Protocols!

Finally I experience the frustrations of working in a big company, protocols upon protocols. After juggling to cover the tasks of colleagues (because we work in a team) and handling the different tasks to the best of my ability, I realised that doing my best is not enough.
When I thouht an assignment was well-executed, it came back to me that though it was carried out well, I still have to ensure the protocols are followed in case anyone is unhappy if they are missed out of the loop. Hpmmh Hmppph. F-R-U-S-T-R-A-T-E-D.
I guess it's really a good training ground for me and I just have to be Sharper than ever to be the salt of the earth.

Murderer?

3 months after settling into my new home, I've become a murderer.

I have killed (and I have pictures to prove it) 3 lizards within weeks.

Found these two sneaking around while I was doing the laundry, and I had to go after them with insecticide because I'm afraid of them hiding around.

This one turned black after dying...

People say I'm gross, but I think it's pure survival instinct.

It's amazing what fear can drive people to do. I hope I haven't offend any insects lover, but I simply can't let the lizards roam my house.

Be Poised!

What happened is this: I was walking and saw a young lady, fair and petite in front of me. She was dressed in a shirtdress and had her hair bunned up. She was sweet pretty picture till she started to waddle, walking with feet turning outwards in 'V' shape. Not only that, her hand flung outwards as she waddle. My God! And, I heard her speak Japanese, which added to my surprise as I thought for a sweet young girl her age should at least walk, not waddle! Even aunties look better!

Ladies, girls, Listen up! Even if you aren't ladylike and demure by nature, please at least walk properly. I was so turned off at the manner she walked! Now I know why guys feel so turned off when a woman don't have any poise at all.

I went to my hairdresser who is a proud father now and kept showing me his son's photos. I must say the baby is really cute...makes you want to have one too.

=== I Put On 1KG!!! ===

First of all, I wanna establish a fact that is slowly fading away.

For those of you who don't know me enough, you thought I am a small eater. That is a myth.

I am one of those (I thank my God) who has extremely high metabolic rate and burns carbohydrates fast, which is why I eat a lot of pasta, rice, bread (anything with carbo).

But, ever since I came back from my honeymoon and work in EY, I PUT ON 1 KG!!!! I ain't happy about it because it hints of slowing metabolism.

At the rate my office snacks, it's no wonder...

Count Your Blessings!

It's the time of the year where festive cheer is in the air and we make merry and sing our Auld Lang Sye. In the midst of all the celebration, it's also a time where I really looked back at the year and thank God for all the blessings that have come.

No doubt, it has been a challenging year for me, with a job loss in the face of wedding preparations and yet God has turn it around and I'm now happily planted in EY(Ernst & Young).

The great unbelieveable miracles that God has done:
- Started saving for my wedding in March this year and yet George & I were able to save enough money for our wedding in September. (I still didn't know how that happened!)
- Moved into our house expecting almost-bare living conditions yet we have comfortably settled with a good (and I say good again!) bed, 42-inch plasma tv, dining table and kitchen appliances all in

One sees the great hand of God in weddings...Amen!

Wedding Photos

My beloved ones, the long awaited............wedding photos!

I must say I wasn't a photogenic bride, but any bride is deemed most beautiful on their wedding day, so I shall crown myself "beautiful" on my big day.

Robin, my photographer, did a fabulous job of creating a "feel" that I liked of all the photos. Thanks!

Any decent bride should eat on their wedding day, this is me eating at 6 am...

Thank You My Darling

Disclaimer:

1) I have no wish for my blog to turn into a mushy site, but at this point I really wanna appreciate my dear for the things he has done for me, so my readers, do bear with me!

2) I pronounced myself the unofficial guide to good food in Singapore cos' I'm a self-professed food lover that would travel to different parts of this city (with the help of Darling of course) to seek out note-worthy food.

My hubby brought me to this HARAKU Japanese Restaurant at Katong Villa on his birthday celebration (I was supposed to celebrate for him but he brought me to sample my favourite food instead).

Winning Points:

- Excellent service from every staff; the Asst Mgr held the door as we leave, was sharp and alert
- Presentation is nice for mid-range pricing
- Sashimi is super fresh!
- Green tea is flown in from Japan (nice!)

See the pictures...I give it 6.5 for food, 9 for service out of 10 (my standard very high la)

~ Thoughts of a Newly Married Lady ~

A new stage of my life and I must say God has been good and is still good!!!

All the planning and stress that George and I had while preparing for our wedding was flushed away in one day - on our Wedding Day - like the flushing whoosh of the toilet flush (unromantic description right? Ha.)

On top of that, the bonus is that I have people coming to me to tell me that it's a beautiful wedding. And I know with the help of many dear ones, it really went well. How could it not when my dear ones put their heart and soul to run it? Thank you my darling helpers, all of you.

And thank you all the warm supporters who provided such a lovely atmosphere!

A huge wave of relief.
All the anxiety, weight and stress were gone and I liked the feeling!

Though my house is very very empty now, but I don't mind the hardwork of building a home from scratch, as long as both partners are willing and committed.

So far, the transition is fine as I'm very independant by nature. The change I've noticed is the significant willingness to put up with each other (me and George) in our unique life habits. So far so good (some people would call it the honeymoon stage) but I'm happy with the way things are now :)

Even if it's honeymoon stage, at least it's a very good start.

Hello to Mrs Tan!
